Our story

Muda Paris, a project, a story

If you've known Muda Paris since 2022, our story truly begins 10 years earlier. In fact, we met in 2012, back in school. "We" are Tarik and Sami, and since graduating, we've formed a real team around our project: Muda Paris. Shall we tell you our story?

Who is behind Muda Paris?

We make a great team, complementing each other well thanks to our backgrounds and personalities. For us, working together is a real opportunity! We're friends, which means we know each other's temperaments, our limitations, and our working styles. Friendship also fosters trust, a valuable quality!

  • Ambitious in the development of Muda Paris
  • Organized in the face of the multitude of issues to manage
  • Meticulous in our attention to detail, our goal is to strive for perfection in everything we do.

How did the Muda Paris project come about?

We are both of Moroccan origin. One of us is from Oujda, while the other is from Nador. Our shared observation: despite a very present Moroccan diaspora in France, finding quality traditional clothing was very difficult.

Many entrepreneurial ventures begin this way. We feel the lack of a product, so we fill that gap. Muda Paris is no exception. When we experience a lack of authentic Moroccan traditional clothing in France, it's certainly because others feel this void as well.

So, we did it! And the least we can say is that we were far from alone!

What does "Muda Paris" mean?

Muda Paris is a name that embodies our passion for clothing; Muda means "fashion" in Arabic, and Paris is where our adventure began. Paris, the capital of fashion, but also of luxury.

So, from Paris to Morocco, it's "just a step." Thus, each piece we design reflects the elegance and richness of Arab culture. At Muda Paris, we merge these two worlds to offer you unique and sophisticated clothing.

A long-standing attachment

We naturally developed an early appreciation for Moroccan craftsmanship, particularly clothing. These traditional outfits even remind us of our summer holidays as children.

The trip to Morocco was something we looked forward to all year. We spent several days on the road, the car loaded with gifts, ready for an unforgettable summer. The days were filled with special moments with family, friends, and neighbors.

Then, at the end of the holidays, we left without the gifts we had brought back, but laden with memories, especially traditional outfits. We stocked up on gandouras and djellabas for the whole year, outfits we could wear with pride.

If our children's eyes marveled at all these splendid landscapes, it goes without saying that our adult gaze, focused on all the cultural richness of Morocco, thinks no less.

High-quality traditional clothing

In a context of hyper-globalization, it was predictable to see traditional Moroccan clothing appear on the market, at least in appearance, but manufactured all over the world. Indeed, while globalization obviously affects trade, it also impacts culture.

Like everyone else, we witnessed the allure of cheap Chinese clothing. But the hype quickly faded. Beyond the unbeatable price, the weaknesses in quality and ethics became apparent.

For our part, we preferred to consume less, but consume better. The charm of a gandoura or a jabador lies not only in its design, but also in the quality of its finishes, its history, and the hands through which all these pieces have passed.

The production of traditional clothing is not something that can be improvised. Some pieces cannot be reproduced by machines, further highlighting the work of true artisans. This is the central theme of our project.

Muda Paris, a link between Morocco and France

What we envisioned for Muda Paris was a 100% Moroccan production, with workshops on site. Moreover, we have developed very close ties with them.

The idea was therefore to be in the heart of Morocco, to offer traditional outfits and to perpetuate the know-how of these artisans.

Muda Paris also offers people from all backgrounds the opportunity to discover and wear traditional Moroccan clothing. In this way, the expertise of the unsung artisans we work with shines beyond borders.

Our outfits are worn by people of all backgrounds and nationalities, and that's what makes us proud.
